The Advocates for Human Rights
formerly Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights

The Advocates for Human Rights is a non-governmental, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the promotion and protection of internationally recognized human rights. With the help of the more than 600 active volunteers who contribute an estimated $3.4 million annually of in-kind services, The Advocates documents human rights abuses, advocates on behalf of individual victims, educates on human rights issues, and provides training and technical assistance to address and prevent human rights violations.

International Women's Day

Each year, The Advocates recognizes International Women's Day with a celebration of the diversity and strength of Minnesota women and an educational program that highlights advancements in women's rights and equality, encourages further activism, and promotes increased understanding and tolerance in our community. The 13th Annual International Women's Day Celebration will be held on March 15, 2008 from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the University of Minnesota's Coffman Memorial Union.  The event will feature keynote speaker Robin Morgan, as well as workshops, performances, film, and display and information tables from more than 60 co-sponsoring organizations. Find out more.
